We provide consulting services in the following key areas: IT STRATEGY - We look at your IT strategy and how well it is aligned with your business goals. Typically, the business defines the value pillars and stresses focus on the areas of competitive differentiation that IT initiatives are required to support. We perform structured interviews with the business and IT stakeholders to understand their "unconstrained" requirements. Then we apply financial and regulatory constraints (such as SOX, HIPAA, A123, etc.) to these initiatives. A prioritization schedule (which is ranked by the business) as well as a rough-order-magnitude cost by the initiative gives us the data needed to fund your portfolio of initiatives. We also perform ROI and IRR calculations where finance approval is needed. IT GOVERNANCE - Most organizations have informal governance process that works well under the normal conditions. When priorities change because of the changing business conditions or because of an emergency situation, most organizations forget their processes and dive right into the crisis without a proper plan. We help organizations establish their formal governance process. Using a simplied version of ITIL and itSMF, where we separate the planning processes (normal conditions) from the exception processes (crisis conditions). Planning processes deal with demand management, capacity management and release management for the purpose of creating a master planning schedule. Exception processes include incident management, problem management, and change management. These two trio of processes are linked together to achieve 80% planned activities and 20% of exception activities. From this baseline planning, we help organizations improve their planning processes even further until an optimal blend is achieved. IT ARCHITECTURE/SOA - IT organizations are getting increasingly complex because systems have become more complex over the years. We help organizations sort out old technologies with new the ones while keeping our eye on the bottomline. We create enterprise architecture using service oriented architecture (SOA) and enterprise services bus (ESB) to provide greater velocity to the business with your IT initiatives. PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT - IT organizations are still operating in an ad hoc manner to meet the demands of the business. They are operationally burdened to think strategically and to get ahead of the curve through any organizational business process reengineering (BPR). At LMD, we have developed a performance improvement plan that helps organizations look at their processes and make incremental improvements by focusing on one problem at a time. Over time, we map out the entire business processes of the organization without undertaking the expensive BPR initiatives that never get implemented. As our experience would tell as, the problems are usually found at the "edge" of the organization and with cross-departmental or -vendor interactions. We start there and involve all of the stakeholders to focus on improvements. IDENTITY MANAGEMENT - Identity Management is an area that is related to Information Assurance, but we focus on this separately because it involves different methods and techniques to improve corporate security. We are a full-service consulting and integrator in this space having worked on it way before it was called Identity Management. We provide to our customers out of the box Identity Management processes that they could customize to suit their businesses. |
